This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday! Pentecost is the birthday of the church, when the Holy Spirit came upon the early church and marked the beginning of a new season in the church. It is a day of new beginnings and a new season in the early Christian church. We will talk about how at Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was a universal translator, bringing people of all languages and cultures together as one. This Sunday we continue our sermon series on “A New Thing”. We are blessed to have Lynne Studeman preach and proclaim God’s word. As many of you know, Lynne was licensed this year at Annual Conference and will be serving as an Associate Pastor at St. Matthew’s UMC starting July 1st.
