Baptism and Confirmation

Baptism and Confirmation are one of the most important milestones we celebrate in the church!

Baptism is a sacrament in the United Methodist Church, when we are initiated into a new covenant in Jesus Christ, claimed by God as God's beloved child, and we remember who we are and whose we are. At Trinity, we believe that baptism is a sacrament initiated by God and therefore we invite both children and adults into baptism.

For those who were baptized as an infant or child, Confirmation is an opportunity to respond to the gift God gave to us at our baptism and to promise to live as a person of faith.  Confirmation also welcomes our youth as full members of the church. At Trinity, we invite middle schoolers to participate in the Confirmation program.

If you are interested in learning more about baptism and confirmation, or would like to get baptized or confirmed, please contact Pastor Grace!

Confirmation 2021-2022

As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
-Joshua 24:15

One of the most important milestones in a 7th and 8th graders faith is confirmation!  Confirmation is a faith journey in the church to “confirm” your faith and to officially become a member of Trinity United Methodist Church!

For many 7th and 8th graders, you were baptized as an infant, and your parents took the baptismal vows on your behalf. As you become young adults, we invite you to now take on those baptismal vows for yourself and respond to God’s grace. In other words, you are claiming your faith as your own!  If you have not yet been baptized, we will invite you to be baptized as part of your confirmation.

At Trinity, this journey is for our 7th and 8th graders (there are also confirmation opportunities for our high school youth as well). Starting in January 2022, we will begin our Confirmation journey which will include Confirmation classes, field trips, service projects, a confirmation retreat, faith friends, and worship leadership.

Through the confirmation process, we will learn what we believe as Christians and as United Methodists, why we believe it, and how we are to live that out in our daily lives.  At the end of the journey, you will be invited to confirm your faith by responding to the grace of God available to us and promising to live as a person of faith.

Confirmation 2020

While Confirmation looked very different this year, we were truly blessed to welcome 5 of our youth in baptism and confirmation this year.  If you missed the service, you can watch it here!

We invite all 7th-9th graders to a Confirmation Meeting on Sunday, November 7th at 12:30 PM to learn more about the journey. This meeting is for both youth and parents and lunch will be provided.

We look forward to walking together on this important faith journey and hope to see you all on Sunday, November 7th at 12:30 PM.
