Paul’s Big Ephesian But - Sunday, October 25, 2026

This Sunday we will wrap up the preaching portion of our fall small group study. We are closing out our time in Good News for Anxious Christians with Philip Cary’s assertion that applying the Bible to your life is boring.

Yikes!

Boring, really? But Cary does have a point. When we go from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22 in search of advice and application, Jesus becomes another influencer offering tips for better living, and Scripture becomes a list of oughts and shoulds. What if Scripture is more than advice?

Saint Paul gives the Church one of his biggest buts in Ephesians 2. Between Paul’s big but, Cary’s argument, and the grace of God, there is more to Scripture that we too often overlook: new life, in a new body, joined by and with Christ.  ‍ ‍Bulletin
