Join us February 2 - March 2, 2025 as we read and study one of the most honest and powerful stories in the Bible. This is a story of loss and survival, or bitterness and anger, of faithfulness and redemption. Worship with us during the month of February for a sermon series on the book of Ruth.
This Sunday, as we continue our sermon series on the book of Ruth, we will be talking about hesed. Hesed is a word that means faithfulness, kindness, and love. In the story of Ruth, we see that through hesed, the worst tragedies and losses of our lives can be redeemed. Bulletin
This Sunday we continue our sermon series on the book of Ruth. In this weeks story, we see that Ruth and Naomi had to glean to survive. Gleaning was a biblical practice to ensure that the poor, the immigrant, the widow, and the orphan had food to eat. Gleaning was not a suggestion or a recommendation, but a requirement for the land. This passage has challenged me to consider how we think about public safety nets, and our responsibility for caring for those most in need. How can we as Christians live into our Biblical mandate of gleaning? Bulletin
