Mary Gillman

Mission Lead - Jennifer Deibert

Trinity United Methodist Church will be collecting non-perishable goods in our parking lot each Wednesday evening from 4 - 7 pm as it corresponds with the Food Truck events. We will continue doing so until the church building reopens. At this time, it is unclear as to where the food trucks may be setting up since there may be multiple trucks.

Instructions to Missions Lead

Obtain the Rising Hope Food Drive sign from Pastor Grace. Park fairly close to the food trucks as we've seen that this increases the likelihood that we may get financial donations from folks who may not have known about the food drive but also keep safety in mind. Situate your car with the trunk facing the parking lot and have it open.  Because we'll be located with the food trucks, people will most likely be delivering their bags in person. You can ask that they put the bags in your trunk, or if you have hand sanitizer, take them from them. Cash and checks made out to Trinity need to be given to Pastor Grace.  Checks made out to Rising Hope can be delivered with the food. Please let Mary Gillman know the total food weight and monetary donation amount after you've made the delivery.

Rising Hope is open from Tuesday thru Friday from 9:30-4:00 for delivery.(Rising Hope Directions)   When you get there, drive around to the rear of the building and ring the doorbell if the door is not open.  A member of the Rising Hope volunteer staff weighs each bag and will give you a receipt with the total weight if you ask.  They seem to have this down to a science.

Rising Hope is currently asking to prioritize personal hygiene items and diapers of all sizes.

The current needs include the following:

  • Canned meats (tuna, chicken, spam, ravioli, soups containing meat)
  • Pasta, rice, dry beans
  • Canned tomato products (sauce, tomato paste, whole/diced/crushed tomatoes)
  • Canned vegetables, fruits, beans
  • Cereal
  • Powdered drink mix
  • Powdered iced tea mix
  • Coffee
  • Tea bags
  • Peanut butter, jelly
  • Salad dressing – Italian and Ranch preferred
  • Dish soap, “pot scrubbers”
  • Toothpaste
  • Deodorant
